SYNOPSIS:
Artie, a zookeeper from Sunnyside, Queens, longs to make it big as a songwriter and escape from his mentally deranged wife, Bananas, his controlling and jealous mistress, Bunny. Will Artie's lunatic son, Ronnie, carry out his plan to kill the Pope during his next visit to New York? Does old friend turned Hollywood producer, Billy Einhorn, hold the key to Artie's success or will those false promises of glory evaporate amidst the chaos of Artie;s ordinary existence? A black comedy that gives us a zany, yet poignant, snapshot of the dark underside of the American dream and society's cancerous obsession with celebrity.
