This is the second in the newly-established annual conferences in Goldsmiths
College, New Cross, London.
PAPERS AND WORKSHOPS
Papers will be published electronically, after peer-review, by the Sound
Journal (Internet address and details below).

(This is co-organized with the University of Kent.)
Where is radio drama after seventy-five years and what is its future?
What is the dialogue between radio drama, the theatre, and the novel?
What is core theory for radio drama?
What are the connections with film/theatre sound theory and reception
theory?
Radio drama is no longer the 'Cinderella' - there is a new wave of
publishing, theory-building, historical studies and participant-observer
studies.
MORE ON THE CONFERENCE:
Some practitioners - playwrights, producers, the IRDP independent production
company, and actors - will attend and the intention is to have one or more
combined sessions on theory and practice, and workshops.
 Students are also encouraged to participate and part of the agenda is to
strengthen the teaching of radio drama, to encourage publications, to
network, to support students researching radio, to bring together a mix of
the academy with practitioners, and to foster best practice in radio drama
production, pedagogy and theory.

Sound Journal - an academic, peer-reviewed journal, newly established,
multi-disciplinary and with a
focus on sound, sited in the University of Kent. It extends across radio,
radio drama, voice, music, theatre and sound, psychoanalysis, the film
sound-track, anthropology and sound, creative sound works, and the
soundscape, etc.
